Devoted mother and friend to her daughters Heather (Noel Kemp) and Susan (Don McIntosh). Adored Nana to Heidi, Holly (Tobin), Matthew, Madeline (Derek), Patrick, Sean, Benjamin (Evelyne), and her five great grandsons Oliver, Teddie, Carter, Ari and Thomas. The last of her generation, she will be missed by her many dear nieces and nephews, especially Diane Leblovic and Nancy Gifford who brightened her days with their regular chats and visits.
Born in Oakville, Helena attended Westwood School, Central School and Oakville Trafalgar High School, and stayed friends with her high school “girls” until they were well into their 80s. Throughout her life Helena, held the importance of friendships very dear to her and treasured both old and new friends – something she passed on to her daughters and grandchildren.
Our family would like to thank the wonderful, supportive staff at OSCR who looked after Mom with compassion and respect; Acclaim Health for the palliative care she received; Dr. Robert Gabriel for his kindness and medical care; and the other physicians who cared and supported our mother over the last ten weeks.
A private family internment will take place later in the fall.
