HARRIS, Dorothy, Nina (loved to be called “Dottie”)

Peacefully, on October 15, 2018, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Max Harris of Harris TV in Mount Hope. Loving mother of Roger (Judy), Steve, Rick (Wendy) and Julie. Cherished grandmother of Sean, Catharine (Michael), Sammie (Chris), Mandi, Erin (Emma) and Sarah. Dear great-grandmother of Connor, Ian, Maelle, Max, Bradley, Hazel and Fox. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Dottie shared a love for the east coast with her dear husband Max. The seaside, beautiful gardens and nature’s landscapes influenced many of her paintings, including a preserved mural Dottie painted in her Sutherland Street apartment in Caledonia. Dottie had a passion for life, people, art and fashion and adored nothing more than dressing up to go out and enjoy life. Dottie lived life large, and her radiant smile could light up a room. Dottie will be sadly missed by her family, friends and fellow card players at the Caledonia Legion and the 447. Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to her dedicated caregivers. Her wishes are to reside beside Max in his hometown of Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, near the ocean they so loved to visit on family vacations. Join family to celebrate Dottie’s life on Sunday, October 28th, 2pm-4pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 154, 29 Caithness St. E., Caledonia.

It always seem too soon when we lose a family member but how comforting it is to have memories and prayers fill our hearts forever. Please accept my deepest compassion. There is little that I personally can say or do to ease your pain and suffering. May knowing that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many bring a measure of comfort. We look forward to the time when all things that cause death will be eradicated by God’s kingdom (Matthew 6:9,10).”
