Grist, Eleanor May(nee Molloy)

January 4, 1933 ~ August 23, 2023
With profound sadness the family announces the passing at home of Eleanor May
Grist in her 90th year. Beloved mother of Jim Grist (Chris), Judy Townson (Wayne)
and Janice Daniher (Jeff). Adoring grandmother to Alicia Grist (Cameron), Andrew

Grist (Alicia), Katelyn Daniher, Cooper and Jillian Townson. Very proud great-
grandmother of Edison, Cullen and Louisa. Predeceased by parents William and

Evelyn Molloy and cherished siblings Isabel Dinsmore (Norm), Don Molloy, and

Jean Tipper (Ralph). Survived by her devoted sister Marg Beal (Don) and sister-in-
law Betty Molloy.

Mom was utterly devoted to her entire family and especially enjoyed spending
time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was generous, humble
and kind and was always ready for a fun outing or family event.
Mom was a former employee of Millards Accountants and White Farm
Equipment. She was a longtime volunteer for the Brant Figure Skating Club and
devoted many years in the support of “precision” (synchronized) skating. She was
a very proud honourary member of the BFSC. She ran a skate boutique from her
home and was able to supply many children with figure skates that otherwise
would not have been able to obtain them. Mom’s generous spirit saw her
working “behind the scenes” to make sure everyone had a more equal
opportunity to enjoy the sport of Figure Skating.
We wish to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Bodak; Dr. McNeil,
Shelley, and Tracy, from the Stedman Community Hospice; Ellie Woodhouse from
LHIN; the Bayshore nurses, particularly Karen and Randa; and Mae Sibbick, who
was a dedicated and loving friend who for many years made sure that mom got to
all her doctor’s appointments in London, as well as a trip or two to the Casino and
Bingo Hall.
Donations to the Stedman Community Hospice would be appreciated. A private
family service will be held at a later date.

I spent many hours in the basement getting skates for the kids. Always so kind and helpful. Rest in peace Eleanor.
