VICTORIA GOODISON 1943-2023

It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our beautiful mother Victoria Goodison (nee Brown).  Mom passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on December 7, 2023.  She is predeceased by her husband John, the love of her life.

Victoria was born to Ted and Mary just over 80 years ago in Barrie, Ontario.  She was one of six children and is survived by her brothers Ed (Anne) and Tim and sisters Bonnie and Veronica.  She is predeceased by her sister Patricia (Bob) and we hope they are having some good belly laughs together again.

There was a special place in her heart for her dear Uncle Charlie, and all of the lovely Lalondes on the west coast who will miss her greatly.  Mom also held dear Prince Edward Island,  where she enjoyed many laughs, wine and of course lobster with her amazing brother Ed.

Mom had such dear friends, many of whom she delighted in having known for decades; some so long they were even permitted  to call her “Vicki”.  Your adventures, big and small, and all time you spent together, meant the world to her.

She was immensely proud of, and relished every moment spent with her grandchildren Isabella, Peter and William, who she loved to the moon and back.

She was grateful for the opportunity to love and be loved by her step-children Jo-Anna (David), Dante (Linh) and Tina (Keith) and their wonderful families.

For her children Darcie (Bryson), Jane (Richard) and John as well as her former daughter in law Jenny, there is a huge void.  As a single parent, Mom used  love, strength, creativity and a dash of magic to purpose our lives with opportunity and happiness.

Our mom was an adventurous, elegant, humorous soul who taught us many things and has left an indelible mark on this world through her kindness, creativity and love.  Mom had the keen eye of an artist, noticing colours, light and beauty and she was able to capture this on canvas.  She loved to paint and for those of us that are lucky enough to have some of her art, we seek comfort in her beautiful creations.

Mom’s family and friends meant everything to her.  She will be missed immensely.

Mom, we thank you for a lifetime of laughter and love and trust that you are dancing among the stars with John.

We will be celebrating a life well lived in the Spring.  Please join us then in sharing your favourite memories about our beautiful Mom.

I have so many fond memories of Vicki , Darcie-my best friend growing up, Janie and John. Playing in the basement hearing Vicki calling “Darcie Anne’.. and me to come home for lunch when we were at the park. Sitting on the back deck together. Vicki and mom (Rosalyn) were friends for years. She came to moms 60th birthday at our place and we had such a wonderful time sharig memories. Mom and I were fortunate enough to see Vicki this summer at applewood Plaza. We stopped and chatted, it was like no time had passed.
Our family sends you all our very sincere condolences on your loss. She was truly a lovely warm and caring woman and will be in yours and everyone who knew her, hearts forever.
Love and Hugs to you all.

Her house at the end of the park is iconic and I pass by it everyday. Think you all of guys. My brother spending hours there eating everything they could with peanut butter.

While Jane and I were in swimming lessons at Westacres when we were 2 years old, our moms, “Vicki” and Inge would sit on the bench and watch us. And thus the friendships began, for not only our moms but for Jane and I. We will dearly miss “Mrs. Sinclair/ Vicki”. She was a beautiful lady both inside and out.
