Frank H. Crane

April 17, 1964 – July 21, 2026

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Frank H. Crane, who passed away on July 21st, 2026, following a brief but courageous battle with complications from ALS. Frank was born April 17, 1964, in St. John’s, Newfoundland, to Frank and Florence Crane. At the age of two, Frank moved with his family to Mississauga, where he spent the remainder of his life; that same year, the family was completed when his brother, Ron, was born.

A lifelong history enthusiast, Frank was known for his vast knowledge of world history, possessing a particular passion for the Roman Empire and the legacy of Constantinople. Beyond his intellectual interests, Frank was a devoted son and a deeply supportive older brother who offered a ear to those he loved. He found great joy in cinema and entertainment, often engaging in spirited, hours-long discussions about film and television. Frank also held a deep love for music; in his younger days, he was a self-taught bass player and enjoyed performing in a band.

Frank grew up as a constant companion to his brother, Ron. While the two were never “bad” children, they were known for their adventurous spirits and memorable “shenanigans”—from the accidental disposal of a restaurant’s sour cream supply to the infamous gumball machine incident that sent the neighborhood children scrambling for treats. Though he was the more reserved of the brothers, Frank possessed an incredible tenderness and a profound love for his family.

Frank is survived by his mother, Mary Florence, and his brother, Ron (Sonia). He was preceded in death by his father, Frank. He will be missed more than words can express by his family.
