Florence Albine Ellis

In Loving Memory of Florence Albine Ellis

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Florence Ellis on May 31, 2023. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend. Flo, devoted to her family and an inspiration to all, passed away at 76. Her absence leaves a void, but her legacy of love and resilience remains in our hearts.

Flo was the wife of Ronald Ellis and a doting mother to daughter Amanda and her husband Neil. She adored her grandchildren, Dhilan and Priya, showering them with affection and cherished memories.

Throughout her life, Flo faced health challenges with unwavering strength. From rheumatic fever at 14, resulting in heart surgery in 1997, to her bout with breast cancer in 2016 fought courageously. Her final struggle with lung complications led to her passing. Even in adversity, Flo displayed remarkable resilience.

Flo was an active church member, finding solace in her faith. Her angelic voice graced the choir, lifting spirits. Her culinary skills delighted family and friends. She also had a green thumb, nurturing plants and flowers in her garden.

Flo loved to organize picnics, games, and parties, creating joyous occasions filled with laughter for her family and friends. Her attention to detail and warm hospitality always created a joyous experience for all who took part.

Flo’s memory will be treasured by her loved ones, who were touched by her kindness and love. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. As we celebrate her life, let us remember the joy she brought and the legacy she leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Trillium Health Partners Foundation, as these were causes close to Flo’s heart. Your contributions will honour her memory and continue her spirit of compassion and giving.

In this time of sorrow, let us find solace knowing Florence now rests in eternal peace, free from pain. May her soul find serenity, and may her memory inspire us to embrace life with grace, strength, and love.

A visitation will be held Wednesday June 7 from 5-8 p.m. at St. John’s Dixie Magnolia Chapel, 737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, ON L4Y2B5.

The funeral service will be held Thursday June 8 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Dixie Church, at the same address, with cremation to follow. Please click here to access the live stream of the funeral service.
