In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Anne (Betty) Frenette (nee Reeves)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Anne (Betty) Frenette (nee Reeves), 86 years old, on Sunday July 12th, 2026. Born in the Toronto Cabbagetown area to her parents James Reeves and Mary Irene Farrell, she was the youngest child of the 8 Reeves children (Gerrard, Jim, Jack, Bernard, Vince, Arthur and Marie who are all predeceased).
Betty spent the first 62 years of her life in Toronto. She was passionate about her home city, especially the area she grew up in, Cabbagetown. She fondly recalled the memories she had and loved to share her stories with anyone interested. For the past 24 years she resided briefly in Burlington and then Brantford, Ontario with her daughter and granddaughter.
Betty will be sorely missed by her daughter Suzanne, granddaughter Samantha, her best friend since childhood Noreen Edwards, her friend from England Carol Jones, and her many loving nieces and nephews.
Over the past few years, though her body was failing, she fought hard to recover many times. Sadly, this time there was too much to overcome. Her strength, sense of humour, adventurous nature and generosity will be warmly remembered by the many people whose lives she touched.
Thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff at Brantford General Hospital for all of their care and support and also to the Bayshore Hospital at Home program that she received care from earlier this year.
As per Betty’s wishes she will be reunited with her parents who are buried in Campbellford, Ontario.

Dear Suzy, I was saddened to hear about aunt Betty. Judging from your obituary, she’d had endured enough and was ready for rest .
I have many fond memories of your mom . She always had a genuine , great sense of humour. She and my mother shared a lot of laughs, I recall from my childhood.,during many visits . I will never forget her laugh .
I will see you in Campbellford August 12 to say goodbye to Aunt Betty .
