In Loving Memory of Donna Schooley Culver
( April 11 , 1957 -May 5, 2026 )
On May 5 th 2026 Donna Schooley Culver passed from this world, having fought IPF lung disease as a true Champion. She was the love of David’s life, his soul mate and his rock. They met in 2005 and were married in Port Canaveral on August 27 th 2011.
Donna and Dave took 6 cruises and thoroughly enjoyed travelling. They especially loved their time in Oklahoma at the lake, where the family always gathered. Donna was predeceased by her mother Elma Esther Hunter and her father Donald Leland Schooley. She will be tremendously missed by her Oklahoma friends and family. Also devastated by this loss are her beloved brother Kent Schooley and sister in law Jennifer Schooley and her devoted Son Christian and his wife Amber, as well as step children Andrea Culver, Charlene Culver, and Shawn Culver. She will be forever missed by her grandchildren Sebastian Michaels and Tidus Michaels. Bereaved step – grandchildren Bobby, Emma, Ava, Taliyah, Kai, and great-grandchild Vala – remembered Donna as fun, full of laughter and “ the biggest heart ever.”
Immediately after getting her Canadian Citizenship, Donna worked in the chiropractic field, for which her schooling had prepared her. She excelled at her job and was soon promoted to Office Manager, looking after three other employees. Since 2008 , when Dave and Donna moved into their vintage home ( built 1909 ), she has been overjoyed by – and proud of – what they built together. They tackled every task with a smile, including building their custom kitchen. Donna loved the Galt neighbours – who adored her in
return – and she created a home of warmth and welcome.
Once you met Donna, you knew that you had a friend for life: she was a soft-hearted person who was willing to help anyone in need. She had some quirky ways about things and never threw things away. And she loved shopping at thrift store for those special finds.
A Celebration of Life will take Place at the Galt Legion, 4 Veterans Way in Cambridge, Sunday May 31st from 2-4 pm.
She has left suffering behind, will be forever missed and always remembered as a one of a kind lady to her husband Dave:
Breath easy, my love…Say hi to mama for me, and I will see you on the other side

Honey there are no words to describe how much you meant to me. My heart has a forever piece missing. If i could give you one more hug and one last kiss. I know how hard you fought to live, but God had other plans for you…he did not want to see you suffer any longer and gave you a big fresh breath of air…no longer attached to a breathing device. I love you honey and will forever miss you until we meet again! God bless you sweetheart you were a warrior to the end.

So many memories — all fun and funny. I remember spending the night with Donna at her mom’s house and we burnt “strobe candles” all night. The next morning, everyone in the house, including Elma and Kent, had black soot all over their nostrils. Oops. Another night when she spent the night with me at my parents’ house, we lit a bunch of candles in my bedroom and accidentally set my curtains on fire. Many fond memories of being roommates at Sunnylane Square Apartments and going through our hat phase. When she moved to California, I followed. Every day was an adventure with Donna. Words can’t express how much I’ll miss her. Love ya sis. As usual, you had to lead the way!

Donna we were only friends for a short time but your positivity & strength were admirable. I’m sorry you didn’t get your second chance at life in time, I will forever remember you & continue to gain strength from your memory as I walk this path of transplant without you. David my deepest condolences, the evidence of your love and kindness for each other was obvious from day one 1 of meeting you both.

I was a childhood friend of Donna’s . Our parents were good friends and we were all together often. Donna and I went through school together and were friends for many years. I always remember her as such a sweetheart and fun to be around. He will be missed by many of us old Bomber classmates and friends here in Oklahoma. Rest in Peace

Donna and her mother ELMA, a.k.a. “Thelma and Louise”… never knew a stranger and had the uncanny ability to make a person feel like they had known them forever… oh how she loves her son Christian, …I commend her and her husband Dave Culver for being there for each other in their hour of need….She leaves behind a lifetime of love and happiness and wonderful memories. We ask that God give her a peace that passes all understanding as she lies beside the Still waters..I like so many others was blessed to have known her.
