David Robert Paul
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Robert Paul, who passed away peacefully in his 63rd year after a courageous battle with cancer. Dave, born in Peterborough on July 7, 1963, was surrounded by his loving family at Casey House in Toronto.
Dave will be forever missed by his siblings Marvin, Nancy (Gerald), Steve (Jenny), Brian (Clara), and Don (Kathi).
He was a loving Uncle to his nieces, nephews, as well as his cousins, and many friends. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Marie and Ray, and his partner Hugh.
David attended Adam Scott High School in Peterborough where he graduated as School Valedictorian, and was well known affectionately to his friends there as “George P.” He then preceded to continue on to Waterloo and Ryerson Universitys in Journalism.
Dave loved Soccer and Irish culture and his life was rich with meaningful relationships and acts of kindness that touched many. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, compassion and enduring love for his family and friends.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses from both Princes Margart Hospital, as well as Casey House. The care and kindness shown for Dave at Casey House was truly appreciated by Dave and extremely humbling for our family. We can’t thank the staff there enough for their great work and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Northminster United Church, 300 Sunset Blvd, Peterborough on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11am. Rev Kevin Derry officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Casey House in Toronto, would be appreciated by his family. Internment will take place at Emily Cemetery following the Ceremony.

David was a kind and gentle person. He was always warm with us and greeted us with a sincere smile every time we saw him. My husband, my family, and I will always remember his kindness and the simple, genuine way he connected with others.
We are deeply saddened by his passing. He leaves a space in our hearts that will be hard to fill. As neighbors, we were so used to seeing him every day, and it will be difficult to adjust to his absence.
Still, we hold on to the comfort of love and the hope that, wherever he is, he is at peace, smiling and surrounded by love.
To his family, we extend our heartfelt condolences. We hope that, with time, you may find strength, peace, and comfort in the memories you shared with him.

Beloved David,
Thank you for your warm smiles and greetings every time we crossed paths. You were a very dear neighbor, and I will always keep you in my memory.
Now you are home, without pain, with a joy and peace you could never have imagined, surrounded by loved ones and Jesus. I am certain that only those of us who remain here mourn your passing, while you are truly happy in your real home.
We will see each other again soon.

My sincere condolences to the Paul family. I grew up on Glebemount Cres and was a few years older but I remember David running around the neighborhood and playing in the park. Our moms were good friends for many years and attended church together regularly. My thoughts are with you all at this very difficult time. Faye Duncan Curry

It is with much sadness that I am learning about David passing away. David was one of my closest friends during high school. I remember we decided to disclose our deepest secret to each other but we were so scared to talk about it that we decided to exchange notes. David and I had so many long discussions and laughter about the challenges of being a teenager. I was so happy when I saw him in Toronto after university and he looked so content. David I will never forget your kindness, humor, intelligence and your enduring support as a friend to get me through high school.
