David Peter Shaldoff- September 27th, 1928 to January 19th, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of a Father (Dad), Papa, and Friend; David, on Saturday, January 19th, 2019 in his 91st year.David will be greatly missed by his four daughters Michelle (Bruce) Garvie, Heather Shaldoff (George Quartarone), Rhonda Shaldoff, and Kristina (Duane) Cathcart. Proud Papa to David, Jennifer, Scott, Starlyn, Teresa, Christopher, Eric, Jessica, Alexandra, Carter, Blake, and Connor.David was born to ‘Jack’ Shaldoff (deceased 1960) and Barbara (nee Thompson – deceased 1981), growing up in Cabbage Town, Toronto and Kirkland Lake, Northern Ontario surviving Polio when he was six years old. David worked at John Wood Company while attaining his Business Management Degree at night. He met Bernice (nee Hounsome – deceased March 27th, 1998) at John Wood Company, Toronto in 1954 marrying on September 5th, 1959. David was a very talented violinist and beautiful singer playing the violin and singing in the choir at his school, Park Collegiate, Toronto and later playing the violin with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. David would later support students at Park Collegiate with Music Scholarships and with his love of sports, he would sponsor local sports teams in his community. David grew up being a huge hockey fan, watching the Toronto Maple Leaf’s at Maple Leaf Gardens. David built the family home in 1959 on Church St in Thornhill. Together, David and Bernice raised four daughters where he encouraged his girls to learn his love of Geography, History, and Math, and the arts of Dance and Piano. David (Papa) was an avid swimmer and would spend hours teaching his grandchildren how to swim. In 1975 David, Bernice, and girls moved to Mississauga to live closer to their work. David was a very successful entrepreneur in the manufacturing of swimming pools; the business he started in 1970 (7-ll Pool Products). David and Bernice loved travelling around the world for business and with family and friends.

Miss you already Dad; you will always be in our hearts.
