Crosbie, Robert Maxwell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Crosbie in his 90th year. Beloved husband for 62 wonderful years of Norma Crosbie (née Drabble), and devoted father to Pam (Alex), Susan (Bill), Kevin (Stacy), and Lesley (Mark). Cherished grandfather of Jason (Lindsay), David (Kerry-Anne), Katie (Cy), Adam (Taylor), Sara (Daniel), Bridget, and Cassandra, and doting GG-PA to Connor, Jaxson, Logan and Owen.

Born in Brantford to the late John & Margaret (née Boughton) Crosbie, Bob lost his mother at age 2, but was fortunate enough to grow up as part of a large and loving extended family.  Bob turned his love for cars and fixing things into a long and respected 43year career as a mechanic and Foreman with Forbes Bros. Brantford.  Eventually, he and Norma retired to their cottage in Muskoka, where he enjoyed boating, sailing, hosting annual gatherings, and his time as both a player, and Marshall, at Windermere Golf Course. Later in life, he and Norma embarked on numerous travelling adventures that took them across Europe, and enjoyed time with friends and family in Myrtle Beach.

He will be sadly missed by his many cousins, brothers and sisters in law, as well as neighbours at Heritage Village in St. George. A special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Brantford General Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion through the previous weeks.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation and interment has taken place.  An informal Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday August 24 from 1 -3 pm at the Sherwood Restaurant in Brantford. In lieu of flowers, the family asks any donations please be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Bob’s memory.
