CHIVERS, Frances Patricia “Pat” (nee Dane)

It is with great sadness that we announce Pat’s peaceful passing at St Joseph’s Lifecare Centre in
Brantford, Ontario, March 28, 2023, in her 90th year.
Pat is predeceased by her husband David (2001). She was a loving mother to her children Paul (Nancy) of North Bay, Mark (predeceased 2009), Fiona (predeceased 2021) and Karen Bell (Johnny) of Brantford. Grandmother to Katrina, Matthew, Brian, Andrew, Sean, Robin, Cody, Cailin, Nyssa, Kassaundra, Jenna, Katie, and Emily. Great-grandmother to Malachi, Owen, Charlie, Rhea, Grace, Neal, Owen, Emmett, and Madelynn. Pat will be remembered by nieces, nephews and extended family in the United Kingdom
Born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Pat married David Chivers of nearby Newtownards and
while stationed with the Royal Air Force in Stafford, England had her first child. Pat worked in a clerical
role at Stormount in Belfast prior to emigrating to Toronto in 1967 where she was a proofreader at
Canada Law Book Co. The family later moved to North Bay where she served for many years in the
hospitality industry. Pat was a lifelong lover of literature and puzzles. She could often be found curled up
with a favourite book, crossword or sudoku.
The family deeply and sincerely thank the staff at St Joseph’s Lifecare Centre for their dedicated and
compassionate care in Pat’s final years.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or St Joseph’s
Lifecare Centre would be appreciated.
