It is with deep sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Sherry Tonkin at the age of 77.
Sherry will be deeply missed by her partner Cliff Thomson. Sherry is survived by her children, Jeff (Colleen) Fraser, Jason (Katy) Lockley and Bob (Shasta) Lockley. Sherry was the proud grandmother to Hunter Robinson, Geordie Lockley and Jessalyn Schlatman. Predeceased by her parents Charlie and Doris Tonkin, and her sister-in-law Deb Sutherland. She was the older sister of Greg and Mark (Carol) Tonkin, and aunt and great aunt to their children and grandchildren. Sherry had many cousins and friends, and enjoyed giving her bus drivers and cab drivers little bags of candy. She was a very sociable lady who enjoyed chatting with her friends from the old TRW days, the gym and various store workers she met over the years. Even roommates in the hospital became fast friends.
She loved motorcycles, reptiles, fast cars and sending cards to everyone for every occasion.
Cremation has taken place and a private ceremony will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.

So sweet, so kind. Wish we spoke more towards the end, though I’m happy we were speaking more than ever. She sent us a very generous wedding gift, and I largely regret not sending the thank-you notes in time :(. Condolences to all of the family and friends <3

My mom shared this memory with me, Sherry was a wonderful neighbor and friend and a long time loved customer at Zehrs on Fairview. She will be missed dearly.
