In Loving Memory of Catherine Grant McConnell McGlinchey (nee Percy)
Feb 8, 1938-Aug 7, 2026
In the early morning hours of Aug 7th, the world lost a most beautiful and graceful lady. Suffering through dementia and the effects of a stroke, Cathy closed her eyes one last time at the John Noble Home. Born in the Gorbals district of Glasgow, Scotland, Cathy was the last surviving Percy. She was predeceased by parents Tommy and Kate, Brother Jim and Sister Margaret.
The ‘wee’ lady with a big name was a deeply family oriented person. Cathy was the driving force in the decision to offer more opportunities for her young family by moving to Canada, even though this would mean leaving her parents and relatives in Scotland. Cathy was truly a very loving and caring wife, mother, gran and friend. She made everyone who knew her feel better.
Remembering, missing and loving Cathy are her husband of almost 67 years, John, her sons, John(Lynn and her daughter Kayla) and Brian, her favourite and only grandchild Shannon (Jeff) and great granddaughters Skarlett and Kaeda.
On Cathy’s behalf, the McGlinchey family wish to extend our warmest thanks and gratitude to all the staff of the Brant Terrace ward and the Day and Stay program at the John Noble Home. Your kindness never went unnoticed.
Any donations to the long term care or the day and stay program at the John Noble Home in memory of Cathy would be greatly appreciated.
Cremation has already taken place. Arrangements for interment will be determined at a later date.

My earliest memory of Cathy is when John brought her to meet our parents in Yorkhill Street one evening in 1957. As a child, I was playing across the road and saw them walking up on the other side.
I excitedly ran across the road and up the stairs of the close to meet her.
From then on we got along very well, and even kept in email touch between Canada and France.
Deepest condolences to all the family,
Gerald and Lorraine
