Carol Ann Scanlan (née Josey)
1948-2026
Carol Ann Scanlan, age 78, of St. Catharines, ON, passed away peacefully at home on the afternoon of Thursday, October 29, 2026.
Born in Halifax, Carol Ann was the daughter of the late Leyland and Muriel (née Sturmy) Josey. She grew up in Halifax, and attended Queen Elizabeth High School.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Ronald Scanlan; her daughters Jennifer (Rick) Scanlan, Sara (Vincent) Giordano, and her son Andrew (Eva) Scanlan; her grandchildren Hannah (Joel) Giordano, Abigail (Michael) Giordano, Luke Giordano, Kai Scanlan, Mei Scanlan and Joseph Clayton; her sisters Joan Josey, Dorene Josey, and Murna (Murray) Nelson; and her current grand-dogs, Millie, Ghost and Niblet. Carol was predeceased by her sister, Linda (Josey) McAllister, and her brother, Grant Josey
Carol loved to travel, especially road trips across Canada and the United States to visit with her many friends and family. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida at Treasure Island, and more recently in Port St. Lucie where she enjoyed many walks and afternoons sitting by the water with Ron at their favorite park, watching the boats go by.
Above all else, Carol loved the Lord and was a prayer warrior for her family and friends. We are greatly comforted knowing that she is at home with Jesus, and we will be with her again.
