Bruce David Roy Marshall

Beloved father to sons Patrick Marshall (partner Laura Haché), Jeff Marshall (partner Shawna Reece) and daughter Alysiagh Williams.

Predeceased by his mother Olive Marshall (Willett), father Donald R Marshall and sister Terri Mullen.

Loving husband to Christina Marshall.

An honorable mention to his first wife and mother of his sons, Lori Marshall.

Bruce has lived many lives in his lifetime. He started his working career in 1974 in the Canadian Army Reserves and served until 1981 with his rank on release as Corporal.

Bruce began his emergency response career as young volunteer with the Georgetown Ambulance Service.  He later became a career firefighter with Vaughan Fire and Rescue Services.  During his final years in Vaughan, Bruce became qualified to act as captain.  As member of the Vaughan Professional Fire Fighter Association, he was active with Muscular Dystrophy fund raising efforts within the association plus provincially and nationally.   Bruce served as the Association’s secretary for several terms of office and was also involved with occupational health and safety matters.

Bruce “The Fire Marshall” had a longstanding career in Canadian radio working at a number of stations including 1050 CHUM, 104.5 CHUM FM as well as being the former imaging voice of TSN. With a desire to help others, Bruce also taught and mentored students at Seneca College that were embarking on
their careers in broadcasting.

Bruce was always up for a chat and never shyed away from a good political debate with a zest for life that will surely be missed.

A visitation will be held for Bruce at Emmanuel United Church (420 Balmoral Dr, Brampton) on Thursday December 19, 2024 at 11:30 a.m.

A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. at the same location.

Bruce will be laid to rest at a later time.
