In Loving Memory of Barbara Lee Thompson
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Barbara Lee Thompson (Peirce) on October 30th, 2026. Barb’s death was unexpected, and she leaves behind a family and a close circle of friends who were not ready to say goodbye.
Born October 13th, 1963 in Ottawa, to the late Jack (Barb) Peirce and Marlyn (Dave) Fletcher. Loving mother of Justin (Hailey) and Kayla (Logan). Grandma to Christopher and Kade. Dear sister of Kim (Bill), Cyndy (John) and John (Kim) and step-sister of Lesley (Paul) and Rob (Karen). Leaving behind many nieces and nephews and her faithful dog Lacey, who held a special spot in Barb’s heart and was with her right to the end.
Anyone that knew Barb, knew she was a straight shooter, what you saw was what you got. You also knew exactly where you stood with her, if she liked you, you knew it and she gave you everything she had. If she didn’t like you, well you also knew that and she was not afraid to tell you why. Barb was always more worried about everyone else’s well being first before her own. With one of the biggest hearts around, Barb was always quick to give others the benefit of the doubt. When she loved you, she loved you with all her heart.
As one of the most hardcore Steelers fans, in lieu of flowers, Barb would ask that you all become Pittsburgh Steeler fans as well.. 😊.
Thank you to all that have reached out with support, it means a great deal to the family. As we are all still trying to comprehend what has happened. Please join us as we celebrate the life of Barb on November 29th, 2026 from 2-5pm at the Brant Naval Veterans’ Association located at 54 Wadsworth Street in Brantford Ontario
