In Loving Memory of Barbara Ann Stiles (née Wheeler)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Stiles (née Wheeler), who passed away peacefully at Lisaard House in Cambridge, Ontario, on June 26, 2026, at the age of 82.
Barbara was born on March 2, 1944, in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, to Frank and Lillian Wheeler. She was predeceased by her beloved parents and by her cherished son, Robert, in 2025.
Barbara leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her loving daughter, Jennine (Jason); her daughter-in-law, Peggy; her chosen daughter, Kelly (Joe); her treasured grandchildren, Adam (Kate), Aaron (Natalya), Aiden (Morgan), Rebecca (Luke), and Olivia (Wyatt); and her six beloved great-grandchildren, with one more eagerly awaited. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Mary, Jim, and Carol (Terry), as well as many dearly loved nieces and nephews.
Being “Grandma,” and later “Granny,” brought Barbara immeasurable joy. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her growing family, celebrating milestones, creating memories, and surrounding those she loved with warmth and affection.
Barbara dedicated much of her career to working with children in daycare, where her patience, kindness, and nurturing spirit touched the lives of countless families. Caring for others came naturally to her, and she had a remarkable gift for making every child feel loved, valued, and important.
Family was at the heart of everything Barbara did. She cherished holidays and took great pride in finding the perfect gift for each person she loved. Online shopping was never an option—Barbara believed the perfect present had to be found in person, chosen thoughtfully and with love. She also enjoyed travelling and looked forward to exploring even more of the world before illness changed those plans.
Barbara will be remembered for her generous heart, her unwavering love for her family, and the countless memories she created through life’s simple moments and special celebrations. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff and volunteers at Lisaard House for the exceptional care, comfort, and dignity they provided during Barbara’s final days.
Though deeply missed, Barbara’s legacy of love, compassion, and devotion to family will remain with us always.
