Andrea Denise Maker

July 29, 1967 – April 21, 2023

It is with deep sorrow that the families of Denise “Dee” announce her sudden passing at the Hamilton General Hospital at the tender age of 55.  Denise is the daughter of Janice Bray, Don (Marg) Maker, and a big sister to Sandra (Greg) Dremak, and Don Maker (Kim Bretz).  She was also a very special aunt to Hayden Denton, Kaitlynn (Carl) Madden, and a great aunt to Ashton, Eden and Raven.

Denise had the biggest of hearts and would help everyone and anyone out as much as she possibly could.  Her love for her family, friends and animals was known to all that knew and loved her.  She was born and raised in Brantford, but her free spirit led her to spend parts of her life in Chicago and Florida.  In 1998 she decided that she had to come home to be with her family, but her free spirit never left.

In the last few years Denise volunteered her services and art abilities to several organizations that were special to her.   Denise did things “her” way right up to the end, and didn’t care what anyone else thought.

At Denise’s request no services will be held, and a cremation will take place.  A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Donations in lieu of flowers/cards can be made to:

    Dearest Sandra, Janice and Family:

I wanted to reach out and share not only my deepest condolences. I have such fond memories of growing up with you Sandra and all the great interactions I had with Denise. The last time was so lovely, out at your home in the country with my son. Denise was always so great to be around, laughing and kindness…absolutely felt her free spirit energy! My family also wishes to send their condolences (Darlene, Chester & Garner). My son always remembered coming out to your place. I send love and light to you all. Bless.

Denise was a very special person to many, and a very special sister to me. My heart goes out to her parents as no parent should ever have to go through this. I love you “sissy” and will miss you terribly. I hope you are flying with the butterflies, and have reunited with other loved family and your dearest Randy. You will always be with me…..

My sweet, crazy Aunt; I still can’t believe you’re gone. I take credit for bringing you home from Floria (I was mousy too cute to stay away!) You’re to thank (or blame if you ask my husband) for my love of the soap opera Passions, which I still watch by the way. You will be remembered as someone who marched to the beat of her own drum unapologetically and loved fiercely without reservations. Your love of butterflies lives on and I think of you with each one I see; now you fly among them ♥️
