Allen, Elaine (nee Payne)

Surrounded by her family, Elaine Allen (Payne), born July 10th, 1960, passed away peacefully, on November 22nd, at the age of 64, at Hamilton General Hospital.

Beloved wife of Shawn Allen, and cherished Mother to Collin & Theresa (Kirsten). She will be missed tremendously by all of her family & friends.

Using humour to fight through her courageous battle with type 1 diabetes and kidney failure, she always knew how to make you laugh. She kept her humour right until the end. She was a true fighter, and her strength and resilience was something to be admired.

Elaine touched the lives of all who knew her, and had a heart filled with love and kindness. In life, all she wanted to be was a Mom, and she was an amazing mother figure to many people throughout the years. She was also blessed to be a grandma figure to Sterling. Our home was always home to the neighbourhood kids, and she welcomed everyone in with open arms.

We have gained a beautiful angel.

Thank you to her health care teams at St. Joe’s Hospital & Hamilton General Hospital.

Cremation will take place at Tranquility, and her celebration of life will take place at a later date.

I miss you so much Mom. Your life itself has shown me so much meaning. Love itself isn’t just one way, it’s all encompassing and absolutely unconditional. I know you’re here with us, but in a way which isn’t something we can grasp or hold onto or even recognize. I know you knew you were loved, but I wish I could tell you one more time without my words, but my presence. We’ll meet again, and you can yell at me for all the stuff I’m probably going to do in this last half of my life lol. You were a small woman with a huge heart. I’m looking forward to the day we meet again. I love you so much Mom. Your Son. 💞
