Wendy McIlwain

March 23,1948 – March 14, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Wendy McIlwain (Storey), a cherished
wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, and friend. Wendy passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025,
surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind a lifetime of love, kindness, and unforgettable
memories.

In 1960, Wendy met the love of her life, Joe McIlwain, at the Terrace roller skating rink. Their
love blossomed, and in 1969, they were married, beginning a beautiful journey together. Wendy
and Joe were blessed with two wonderful children, Melanie (John) and Erin (Keith), who brought
her endless joy. Her greatest pride and happiness came from her grandchildren: Mackenzie,
Ethan, Jillian (2004), Mason, and Ainsley. She cherished them deeply and was overjoyed to be
their Nana.

Wendy’s warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten. Her legacy of
love, laughter, and precious moments will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Wendy is predeceased by her parents, Evelyn (Hayward) Storey and John (Jack) Storey. She is
survived by her sister, Dianne (Don).

A celebration of life will be held at the York Community Salvation Army Church, 1100 Weston
Road, on Friday, March 28th. The viewing will take place from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, followed by a
service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the York Community
Salvation Army in her memory.
