Walter John Szydelko

August 13, 1947 ~ December 6, 2023

Walter John Szydelko, 76, of Brantford, Ontario, passed away at Brantford General Hospital on
December 6, 2023, after a brief illness. Born in Germany on August 13, 1947, Walter was a
beloved husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his wife
Diana, son Andy (Michelle), and stepdaughters Lisa (Mark) and Shelley (Paul). Poppa Wally will
be remembered with love by grandchildren Alyssa, Jordan, Julia, and Christopher. Walter will
also be greatly missed by his sisters Irene McMillan and Jenny Moskwa (John), and brother
Mike Lutcyn (Wendy). Uncle Wally will be fondly remembered by Stephen (Jennifer), Kathy,
Amy, Adam, Michael, Mandy, and his 7 great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents
John and Anne Szydelko, as well as his brother, Romy Szydelko.
Walter dedicated more than 40 years to Stelco, retiring in 2004. He was a hardworking
individual who took pride in his work. Outside of work, Walter enjoyed a variety of hobbies,
including fixing cars, fishing, and watching movies. These interests brought him joy and allowed
him to relax in his free time.
Walter did not wish a service but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honour
Walter’s memory. Details will be shared with family and friends when available.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Brantford SPCA, or a charity of your
choice.
Walter John Szydelko will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic,
and his love for his hobbies. His warm presence and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all
those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
