Zdybal, Matthew
ZDYBAL, Matthew Chester
October 3, 1989 – January 29, 2021
With heavy hearts the family of Matthew Chester Zdybal, a man being hailed a hero, announces his tragic passing at the young age of 31. Born in Toronto on October 3, 1989 to Janina “Nina” and John; oldest brother to Craig and Eric and much loved grandson of Maria Zdybal. Greeted in heaven by grandparents Sodalia and Czeslaw Wasiuk, Walerian Zdybal, godmother Yolanda Gorzynski-Krula and furry friend Wojtek. Matthew will forever be remembered by his aunts and uncles Ania (Steve) Lewicki, Richard (Sylvia) Wasiuk, Teresa (Michael) Nichol, Krysia (Lou) Dal Ben, Josie (Scott) Wimpory, Richard (Diane) Zdybal, Ted Zdybal and Dianne (John) Gora, numerous cousins and extended family in Canada, USA, Poland and Ireland and his much loved dog Macy.
Matthew was raised in Port Credit and had a giant presence across the Greater Toronto Area. He was active in cheerleading, baseball, volleyball and numerous other activities. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and had a heart of gold, evident to anyone he had met in life. An incredibly hard worker, Matthew loved to spend time working and playing on the family farm in Vanessa, Ontario, both up in the trees and down on the ground chasing his dogs and chickens and ripping in the dirt. He turned his love for the outdoors into a business and was always on the go.
It was hard to find a time when he didn’t have a smile on his face and he will be remembered for his infectious personality. He was a great family member and friend and will be sorely missed by everyone.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Matthew’s memory to Inugoya Rehoming & Rehabilitation – a non-profit foster home for dogs that was near and dear to Matthew’s heart. Donations are best accepted by PayPal or E-Transfer to [email protected].
