WROBEL, John Walter
JOHN WALTER WROBEL – is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of John Wrobel on June 15, 2011 at St Peter’s Hospital in his 67th year. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Judith, devoted father to Lynn Stone (David), David Wrobel (Sherry), Paul Wrobel (Tracey) and adored stepdad to Terri Gilmour (Curtis) and Christina Pucci (Carlo). Cherished brother to Gladys Teeter (Jim) of Ohio, brother-in-law to Barbara Bayley, Tom Cheel (Susan), Ken Cheel (Daphne). He had a special bond with his mother-in-law, Audrey Dunford. He was affectionately called Dziadzio (jahjoh) by his grandchildren Ryan, Jordan, Rebekah, Cody, Cassidy, Jacob, Sarah, Brooke, Ella, Luca and baby Katherine. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. John was born and raised in Hamilton, where he worked 34 years as a Millwright for Stelco; first in the USM then the BOF before retiring in 2002. John was a kind and generous man who loved life. He loved to have family and friends together and often you’d find him in the kitchen cooking great meals. He loved the years spent at the family cottage, entertaining, hunting and fishing. No project or renovation was too big for him to tackle. He instilled good work ethics and the importance of family. He will be remembered with fondness by old friends from long ago and the new friends he made along the way. He will be forever in our hearts. The family would like to thank the special nurses at Heart Function Clinic at the General Hospital for helping John try to beat the odds and to Dr. “Bev” Hattersley, the nurses and the rest of the staff at 3West, St. Peter’s Hospital for their kindness, compassion, and special care. Cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration will take place at Bay Gardens Funeral home, 947 Rymal Road, Hamilton, Ontario on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
