WREAKS, George Richard

February 07, 2024 | 1 Condolence

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Richard Wreaks, after a courageous battle with cancer.
March 1st 1971 to February 3rd, 2024. Less than a month away from his 53rd birthday.

Father to Kyla Sawicki (29), Dalton Wreaks  (24), Austin Wreaks (21).
George knew Judy Wreaks (Sawicki), mother of George’s three children for over 35 years. Meeting at age 15 and 17.
Predeceased by his mother Edith Wreaks. Survived by brother Travis Wreaks and his girlfriend Brandi Hens (step daughter Abby Hens). He will be fondly remembered. He was a Father, Son, Brother, Nephew, Friend, and loved one to many. George loved and was loved by many family members and close friends.

George was a smart, creative, determined, strong willed, loving and emotional man. He was known to be a stubborn Hungarian man, and an amazing cook. His family will miss his Christmas and Thanksgiving feasts, and most specifically, his stuffing. Along with being an amazing cook, he was a very talented welder fabricator. His favourite type of welding to do was tig welding.

George loved hockey, very loyal to his team the Toronto Maple Leafs. He loved to thrift shop and go to yard sales looking for tribal masks and home decor. He loved bald eagles and had a tattoo of one on his arm, along with various eagle sculptures.
George loved spending time in nature, going for hikes, seeing the sun, and being by the water. He loved his pet bird, Gilmour, a yellow lovebird. His son, Dalton will now take care of.

George went to heaven on his mother in law, Shirley Sawicki’s birthday, to go have cake with her. Although he would prefer lemon meringue pie.

George will be cremated. His wish was to have a celebration of life in the summer. His family will plan a celebration for this summer 2024 and provide notice. We would love for everyone who loved George (our Dad) to come celebrate his life with us.

Donations to Stedman Hospice (Brantford) would be appreciated. This is where he spent his final weeks, and the staff and facility were amazing and exceeded expectations.

Always with you, love you forever ❤️
