WARIAS, Alfred (Alfi)
WARIAS, Alfred (Alfi) – following a courageous struggle with cancer, Alfi passed at Sakura House, Woodstock on November 3, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife Reta, son Terry (Rhonda) Drayton, daughter in law Brenda Meaford, grandson Cody (Kendall) Meaford, step son Dale of Toronto, two stepdaughters Cheryl and Lori, both of Kitchener. Alfi was predeceased by his first wife Renate (1992), son Charles (2016), four sisters and four brothers. Upon his arrival from Germany in 1952 he started to work immediately on a farm in Breslau. After a couple of years he found his true passion in construction in the Kitchener, Waterloo and surrounding area. He worked hard and has left his mark of caring and professionalism on many buildings in waterloo county. The final ten years of his working career were spent as building inspector for the city of Kitchener. On his retirement he moved to Lions Head, then to Owen Sound, and then to Woodstock. He spent many happy hours at Southgate Senior Centre Woodworking Shoppe. His working with crafts continued until his failing health would not allow it any longer. At Alfi’s request there will not be a public visitation or service. Cremation has taken place. Online condolences may be made at www.tranquilitycremation.com. A heartfelt thanks goes out to Dr. Collins, all the dedicated staff and volunteers at Sakura House CCAC, Ste. Elizabeth and our pastor Tanya Ramer. If desired donations can be made to Sakura House or Bethany Lutheran Church, both in Woodstock.
I am so grateful for the wonderful years we had together. Alfi you will be missed so very much. Always loved, always remembered. May you rest in peace.
Love
