In Loving Memory of Ugo Dalla Pasqua
With profound sorrow we sadly announce the peaceful passing of Ugo on March 7, 2025, at St Peter’s Hospital, at the age of 92.
Loving and caring husband to Miriam (Olivieri), an extraordinary, devoted stepdad, teacher and best friend to Christian, deeply loved and respected by daughter in law Amanda and an adoring playful spoiling Nonno and ‘buddy’ to Valentina who together made an invincible dynamic team bottling wine, planting & maintaining the garden, caring for Nonna’s roses, making polenta and bread pizza.
Ugo is survived by his sister Olga Tonus (the late Agostino) of Toronto, sister-in-law Maria Ruoso (the late Bruno Dalla Pasqua) of Italy and Enrico of Winona, on.
Waiting in heaven are his parents Antonio and anna, 5 sisters: Fiorina, Antonia, Augusta, Yolanda, Angelina and 7 brothers: Pietro, Mario, Luigi, Joe, Angelo, Benito and Bruno.
Ugo is predeceased by his mother and father-in-law Assunta and Benedetto Olivieri.
Zio Ugo loved and cherished his nephews Claudio, Ivano, Danny, Renzo, Ermes, the late niece Vania in Canada and a lot more in Italy.
For over 30 years, Ugo was a loyal employee and a foreman at Day & Campbell in Hamilton.
Ugo was a skilled gardener with a great passion for growing garlic from various countries. He was also a great chef a skill he acquired while serving in the Italian army. He was also a devoted sportsman for soccer Juventus team, Formula 1 /Ferrari team, Hamilton Tiger Cats and Toronto Maple Leaf’s. Ugo was above all a master winemaker, both white and red wines, an art he mastered while growing up Vallonto/Fontanelle helping in the family vineyards along with his older brothers. This old family tradition and to honour Ugo’s wishes Christian has agreed to carry it forward.
Ugo was also an expert at making salami, muset, capicollo & pancetta with the lead participation of master experts Marcello and Bruno. As Ugo’s health began to decline, sadly he was forced to abandon it
To honour Ugo’s wishes, there will be no visitation. All are invited to attend the funeral mass at St Margaret Mary church, 20 Idlewood Ave, Hamilton. On Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 10:00 am
