Douglas Ernest Swanson
April 28, 1942 – August 30, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Douglas Ernest Swanson. Doug was the proud owner of Douglas E. Swanson Assurance Agencies for 40 years. He shared many fond memories of clients who became good friends over the years.
Dad was an example to us all. He lived life on his terms which always included fun. He often hosted Sunday dinners, holiday events, and family reunions. Playing card games and Karaoke were two of his favourite past times. He strengthened our family. We are so grateful for his support of all of us.
Dad was predeceased by his parents Ernest, Jeanne and Hildegarde. He is the father of Cynthia (Paul), Daniel, Bradley (Kim), David and Joel (Kayla). Brother of Beverley McLean, Terry, Lilli (Ben), Peter (Cindy), Michael (Brenda), Brenda (Bob) MacDonald, and Peter (Linda) Nagy. Doug had 9 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He will be missed by his companion Madeleine.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
