SULLIVAN, Edward “Ted”
Sullivan, Edward (Ted) (95)
December 1, 2024
We are saddened to announce the passing of Ed (Ted) Sullivan, born November 15, 1929.
Edward passed away peacefully in his home in Brantford ON not long after celebrating his 95 th
birthday. His genuine nature and loving heart allowed him to live a full life that touched many.
His final hours were spent alongside his son John and daughter Lynn and close to his
grandchildren Andrew, Tania, Katie and Emily. He was also overjoyed to have been able to visit
with his great grandchildren Noah, Evelyn, and newly born Lucy.
Ed was born in Hamilton but spent most of his adult life raising his family in Dundas ON where
he and his wife Shirley built their dream home on York Road. Ed was a devoted husband, father
and grandfather (Poppy) who would always take every opportunity to celebrate his family’s
activities in the community. Both Ed and Shirley felt blessed to share the closeness to their
daughter in law Sylvia and grandchildren. We all were blessed with his kindness and friendly
spirit which befriended many and we were always surrounded by friends, uncles, aunts and
cousins who all were welcomed and treated as family.
Ed’s entrepreneurial spirit led to a successful career working for Ken-Co Industries servicing the
local automotive industry. Ed loved to volunteer his time, was committed to service which led to
his being chosen the first Lion of the year after serving the Dundas community as a club
member for over 20 years.
In Ed’s final weeks he was able to reflect on the very close relationship, he had with his brothers
now passed George, Jack, and Bill all raised by their mother “Molly” in Hamilton. Their
unwavering commitment and love for family and friends will be greatly missed.
I would like to thank Mike from the McMaster Family Practice in Hamilton for his home visits that
greatly assisted my father with his wish to remain at home. Also notable was the care provided
by his PSW’s from Bayshore and his palliative care team from Stedman Hospice in Brantford.
The family will be holding a celebration and mass at St. Augustine’s Church in Dundas at 11:00
January 17, 2025 with a reception to follow at the parish centre located next to the church.
Those planning on attending are kindly asked to RSVP to John’s email address
[email protected].
