Spibey, George
George Spibey
1940-2022
Sadly on August 19 we lost our beloved dad in his 82nd year. He had been battling illness for the past few months and is now in peace and with his beloved May.
Mum and dad emigrated from Scotland in 1962 and made their new home in Canada with their baby daughter and shortly thereafter, 3 more bundles of joy arrived. Dad loved his music and did disc jockey work for dances, weddings and private shindigs for many years. He has met some wonderful and fascinating people over the years who remain close friends.
There were several other members of our extended family who arrived during those first few years in Canada, whose friendship and love he cherished all his life.
He will be sadly missed by his children Susan, Stephen (Tracy), Andrew and Allison (John), and by grandchildren Ian, Kaylee, Colin, Devyn, Andy and Mark. He will also be missed by his sisters Mavis (Pete), Sandra (Billy) and Ruth (Wayne) and many nieces, nephews and their families and special friends Margaret and Bernie.
On behalf of the family, we would like to thank all who have reached out to us. It is appreciated and cherished more than you will all know.
We would like to thank Allison very much for the wonderful care that she has given our dad over the past couple of years. We couldn’t have come this far without her.
Family service will take place next week and a celebration of life will take place in a month or so.
Thank you very much from the Spibey Family.
Through my countless ups and downs you have always been there to offer support and encouragement. You shared your eclectic.love of music that had a great impact on me. Many great chats over a coffee or beer we’ve shared through most of our lives.
I loved it when we parted and you waving goodbye shouting “take care darlin”
Somehow we stayed connected forever so illgo on keeping our special moments close to my ♥ heart.
Sleep well brother, till we meet again
