With broken hearts we regret to announce the passing of Allan (1970-2017) at the Brantford General Hospital on April 26, 2017 after a courageous battle with ALS. Allan had the biggest heart imaginable and loved helping others in any way he could. At the age of 18, Allan started landscaping and continued to until his illness prevented him from doing what he loved. Allan had a great passion for music and the beauty of nature. But, his biggest passion was for his three sons ‘Da Boys’ Jacob, Devin and Parker, whom he adored and cherished from their first breath. Allan leaves behind sons, Jacob, Devin and Parker and their mother, Ann McCreadie of Mississauga, ON; sisters, Deanne Ellis (Lawrence) of Sydney, NS, Tracey Burke (Gerard) of Brantford, ON, whom he resided with, and Patricia ‘Patti’ Smith (Pete) of Brantford, ON; stepfather, Gerard McNeil of Brantford, ON; father, George Smith of Glace Bay, NS; grandmother, Pauline Gardiner of Gardiner Mines, NS; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by mother, Sharon Gardiner-McNeil; grandfather, Andrew Gardiner, and grandparents, George and Rosie Smith.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Tranquility Burial & Cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held May 5, 7 p.m. at St. Pius X Parish, Brantford, ON, and May 26, 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Dominion, NS.
