Lawrence was born in Hungary and started his journey to Canada as a young child with his mother and siblings on a ship to be with his father who was making a new life for them here. When Lawrence was a young lad he joined the merchant navy. Larry later too up boxing and won the Golden Gloves as an Amateur. Frank Bricker was his manager and coach. He was quite the avid boxer with many fights.
His first wife was Dolly Brown and they had two sons, Larry and Scott. Larry worked at Norton Co. for 25 years until their closing. He then got a job as a crossing guard and he loved the kids dearly at St. Leo’s School. Larry was a crossing guard for 20 years. He was also quite the handyman and did a lot of work for people, including grass cutting. Larry also loved working with wood and making bird houses.
He will be sadly missed by many. We would like to thank all our relatives and friends for all the good times, fun we had and all of the special memories that were made. To all the people that have been supportive of us, many thanks.
A special thank you to Stedman Hospice and the Community Outreach program. Thank you to all the staff, I don’t know what I would have done with our you, you were our “angels”.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date. Donations to the Stedman Community Hospice or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
Larry’s song was Sentimental Journey and he did have quite the Journey.
We want to wish you all ‘Blessed Christmas’
