Shannon Mae Heft

Shannon Mae Heft
It is with great sadness we share on October 31st 2025 Shannon Mae Heft of Milton, Ontario for 44 years, passed away peacefully. She battled with many illnesses long and hard. In the end she was tired and too weak to continue.
Shannon was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 12th 1950 to Edgar and Irene (nee Mitchell) McKeown. She grew up with her sister Patti Grapentine (Byron) and brother Michael McKeown (Donna). She married the love of her life Alan Heft on April 15th 1967. They had four children Shawn Adkin (Greg), Dawn Collins (Steve), Rob Heft (Zara), and Anne-Marie Bassett (Jordan). And had 7 grandchildren who meant everything to her; Alanna Barrett (Alex), Jesse Adkin (Brandon), Caitlin Collins (Cameron), Sammy Heft, Kyle Collins (Andrea), Mo Heft, and Owen Bassett. She is also survived by her sister-in law of 58 years Cindy Henry (Randy). Predeceased by her In-laws Evelyn and Walter Heft. Reunited with her beloved dog Tink, her partner in crime after losing Alan.
Shannon was a loving and caring Mother. A devoted wife even after losing her husband 23 years ago. A beloved sister and Auntie. And Grandma Shannon to many kids. She was also a dear friend. Shannon’s whole world was her family. She was happiest surrounded by loved ones.
She was an absolute survivor who overcame many health struggles over the last 9 years. She did so with grace and no complaints, even though she was in a great deal of pain. She consistently defied all odds. Her strength was an inspiration.
She loved music and reading, she loved watching ghost stories and home renovation shows. She enjoyed fishing. She loved hosting friends and family. She was a neat freak to the extreme while we were growing up. Shannon didn’t have a mean bone in her body, she had a gullible innocence. A commerical could bring her tender heart to tears. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for decades.
Shannon was adored by all that knew her. She will be missed immensely and is loved beyond measure. Her memory will live on through each and everyone of us who knew her and loved her.
Shannon will be cremated and taken back to Manitoba for her final rest. She will be given her final send off with family gathered at the Manigotagan River. No formal services will be held as per her wishes.
