Ann Scott
1943-2025
It is with broken hearts we share that with grace, courage, and a tremendous strength of spirit,
Ann left our world on January 28, 2025 with her three children at her side. Beloved Mother to Ian
(Beverly), David (Cindy), and Jennifer (Armando), Nana to Eric (Lily) and Maggie, and cherished
friend to many. Predeceased by husband of 46 years Terry (1999). Those who knew and loved her
understood that she said it like it was, had lots of spunk and talent, and was very loyal and giving
to those she admired. Originally from England, Ann emigrated to Canada in 1957 with Terry,
eventually settling in Brantford. Ann had an exceptional talent with her sewing machine that
stood above most, primarily designing and sewing skating costumes for over 45 years, originating
with her daughter’s dresses, as well as bridal gowns, exquisite designer and fur coats, dancewear
and music icon costumes. Her ability ranked high above what she ever acknowledged, and was the
envy of her fellow Probus members, attending each meeting in another stunning outfit that she
just “whipped up”. Ann was an avid tennis player and played well into her eighties. Ann also loved
gardening, dedicating many hours and putting most to shame with her meticulous lawn and flower
beds. A scholar, Ann loved school and yearned to continue her education if circumstances had
allowed. Ann was very active and always appeared younger than her years. Her undying love and
devotion to her children was felt by all of us; she always had an ear to listen, and was truly
interested in what was happening in our lives. She was our champion, so full of pride, love and
support for her children, grandchildren, and her friends. We lost a beautiful and incredible
woman, never to be replaced. She will live on in our memories, forever loved and never forgotten.
Respecting Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later
date, when mourning can be replaced with merriment. Donations can be made in her memory to
the Alzheimer’s Society of Brant, and to the Stedman Community Hospice.
“Thank you for every sunlit day that fills the corners of my memory, thank you for every selfless
unsung deed I know you did for me”.
