PATTERSON, Hilda Elsie

With heavy hearts we share the news of the passing of Hilda Elsie Patterson (nee Watt) with loved ones by her side on Friday March 7th, 2025 at the incredible age of 98.
Hilda was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on February 8th, 1927 and was the eldest daughter of Agnes and Dorion Watt.
She was a very special and incredible woman who touched the lives in some way shape or form, of so many. She was a walking encyclopedia, especially when it came to history and always had a great story to share. Some of her infamous stories include being a little girl on Lyne Street in Edinburgh, visiting her auntie’s sweetie shop, going to movies with her father and siblings, and being away from her parents during the war to name a few. She was proud to have served with the British land army during the war and maintained that one of her best accomplishments was moving to Canada with her family in 1969. Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Murder She Wrote were her weeknight staples. It wasn’t uncommon to see her sitting with her iPad building her puzzles.
Predeceased by her husband, George, she has survived by her six children, John (Darlene), Ann, Margaret, Sandra (Andy), Hilda, and Ethel. She will be missed by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren, as well as her close nieces, nephews, and cousins.
