PAOLO De LUCIA

Jan 3rd, 1937- July 14th, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paolo De Lucia at the age of 88, on July 14th, 2025. Born in Mugnano Del Cardinale, Avellino, Italy in 1937, Paolo immigrated to Canada to build a better life, where he worked proudly at National Steel Car and built a beautiful legacy with his devoted wife of 60 years, Elisa. He was a proud and loving father to Nikki, Steven (Odette), Daniella (Robert). Paolo will be re-united with his parents, Stefano and Nicoletta and his siblings, Giovanna (Pellegrino), Filomena (Fortunato), Salvatore (survived by Orsolina), Carmelina, and Giovanni. Son-in-law of Americo and Piacentina Silvestri (pre-deceased), brother in law to Teresa(Giuseppe), Camilla (Franco) and Rosanna (Salvatore), and Pasqualino (pre-deceased). Paolo will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Canada and Italy.

A beloved Nonno, Paolo found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren Paolo, Adrian, Matteo, and Julia. His love for them knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment he shared with them.

Paolo was a man of simple pleasures and deep passions. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and wine-making, and cooking delicious meals for his family. A spirited card player, he enjoyed many evenings in the company of friends at the Azzuri Sports Club, as well as an avid bowler in his younger years.

He will be remembered for his generous heart, good sense of humour, and unwavering love for his family.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at the Brantford General Hospital and Chartwell Tranquility Place Retirement Home for their dedicated care and support. In keeping with Paolo’s wishes, a private family service will be held.

Forever in our hearts.
