Oshanek, Charlene (Char) nee Poirier
It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Char on Wednesday, July 15th 2020 in her 58th year. Char is now re-united with her mother Agnes Poirier (2009), her father Charles Poirier (2006), her sister Bea (Beatrice) Mussche (2017), and her beloved grand-dog Koko (2018). Char was a cherished and devoted mother to Kelli (Kelli-Ann) Oshanek and loving wifey to Craig Sargent. Char will also be deeply missed by Kelli-Ann’s father, Michael Oshanek. Char will be severely missed by her siblings, Mary Hietala (Lorne, 2013), Henry Poirier (Karen), Donna Kusch, Evelyn Farrow (Richard), and Christian Mussche. “Aunt Char” will be in intensely missed by all of her many nieces and nephews (there were many), as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. Char will be especially missed by her best friends Anne Marie, Josie, and Tammy. Char was the light and heart that made every life she touched a little brighter. Particularly her co-workers and staff at Shellington Place and Sobey’s West Brant. Char exemplified exceptional kindness and lived her life selflessly, and always put her family and friends first. There was nothing that she couldn’t do to put a smile on anyone’s face which proved easy due to her infectious laugh and timeless smile. Char was an avid lover of the sun, and she lived for her yearly spring and fall trips to Florida with Craig, her paradise with the dolphins. She took pride in caring for her beautiful flowers, plants, and her pool. Char was also passionate about her “Oldies” tunes on the radio, reading, her daily Expositor crosswords, and most importantly, her Tim Horton’s coffee. Char especially loved spending time with and laughing with her daughter, attending numerous family functions and time spent with her friends. Char was a living example of loving without condition, talking without bad intention, giving without any reason, and caring without expectation. She made an undeniable impression on many, and has influenced and inspired countless people. She will be deeply missed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tranquility Brantford. A Celebration of Life for Charlene will be arranged for a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brantford SPCA.
