George Frederick Meadows
June 24, 1931 ~ November 11, 2023
We are saddened to announce the passing of George Frederick Meadows on Nov. 11, 2023 in his 93rd year after a short illness at BGH. George and his current wife, Doreen, just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. George was predeceased by his first wife of 29 years, Eleanor. Leaving behind three children, Paul (Debbie), David, and Judy (Cary) as well as four step-children, Ann, Carol (Jim), Dawn (Chris), and Duffy (Crystal); 14 grandchildren, Sarah, Claire, Cody, Jessica, Darryl, Lindsay, Corey, Trevor, Carson, Dayna, Celia, Natalie, Owen and Ryan; and nine great grandchildren, Miles, Nico, Harper, Charlie,Taylor, Cole, Adam, Aidan, and Elleda. Predeceased by his parents John and Clarissa and his siblings Marion (Austin), Lorene (George) and Parker (Betty).
George owned and operated Elgin McKay Travel Agency from 1972 until 1990 and was a proud member of the Brantford Rotary Club for many years. After marrying Doreen they owned and operated a paint and wallpaper store in Guelph. George lived his life according to his favourite Frank Sinatra song ” I did it my way”.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.
