Kirton, George Walter
OBITUARY – GEORGE WALTER KIRTON February 10, 1942 – October 8, 2022
The family of George Walter Kirton are sad to announce his death that occurred
unexpectedly in his apartment, in Hamilton Ontario. He was predeceased by his
parents Lionel Argent Kirton and Ethel Marie Kirton (Montray), his wife Nana
Baylon Jutare and nephew Donald Bruce Hills. He is survived by his two sons,
Edward Steven (Moua) Kirton of Concord California and Phillip Andrew (Angela)
Kirton of Beaverton Oregon, grandchildren Tristan, Kaeden, Preston, Mia,
Miciah and Mercedes Kirton; his two sisters Miriam Ruth Ridge (Larry) of
Burlington, and Helen Ann Smith (Rodney) of Ancaster, several nieces and
nephews and their families. George attended elementary and high school on
Hamilton “Mountain” and worked as a mechanic in Toronto for several years.
He and his family moved to California over 30 years ago where their sons
attended high school and university and where he worked for a local computer
company. His wife Nana worked as a registered nurse, in Ontario and
subsequently in California until she became terminally ill. Since her death,
George has been retired and spent many years on hiking trails throughout the
United States and more recently in British Columbia, a pastime that he enjoyed
immensely. Six years ago he moved to British Columbia and one year ago
returned home to live in Hamilton. Cremation has taken place and a graveside
family service will be held in California at a later date. If you wish, memorial
gifts may be donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the cancer
organization of your choice.
