Kirby, Lawrence (Larry)
Lawrence “Larry” Kirby
July 10, 1958 – August 24, 2025
It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Lawrence Gordon Kirby, who was born on July 10th, 1958 and passed away at 67 years old on Sunday, August 24th, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer.
Larry was born and raised in Humber Summit and lived in Brampton and Kitchener, Ontario, throughout his young life. Even living in the city, his heart was on the open road or in rural settings. In later years, he moved to Baljennie, Saskatchewan, and spent the winter months with loved ones in Brantford, Ontario.
Larry was a dedicated truck driver for many years and had great pride in his skills behind the wheel. A kind and creative person, he spent countless hours on building projects or renovations, and was forever tinkering and working on engines.
He had a great sense of humour and a positive outlook on life. Sitting by the fire listening to his favourite country songs with friends, family and his dog Delilah by his side brought him immense joy. He loved storytelling and would never shy from a debate.
Lawrence is survived by his partner Angela, his son Christopher (Wanda), daughter Katelyn (Mike), his grandchildren Ava, Maxton, Emilia and Avery, as well as his older sister Barbara (Peter). He is predeceased by his parents, Rita and Gordon Kirby, his sister Heather, and his nephew Rick.
An intimate graveside service will be held on September 15th, 2025, at 1 pm at Dixon’s Union Cemetery in Caledon, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
