Richard (Rick) Bruce Johnson
July 5, 1952 – March 29, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard (Rick) Bruce Johnson on March 29, 2026, at the age of 73.
Rick was the only child of Hugh Johnson (2008) and Muriel Johnson (2002), both of whom predeceased him. He was also predeceased by the love of his life, Wendy (2022).
He was a devoted father to Caren (Dave) Funnell, Bob (Jennifer) Johnson, Debbie Johnson, and Lucas (Miran) Johnson. He was a proud and loving Papa to Tailor, Calvin, Harrison, Daniel, Harper, Connor, and Bruce, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Rick will be remembered as an extraordinary father, a loyal friend, and a steady, caring presence to all who knew him. His kindness, quiet strength, and sense of humour left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
He dedicated many years of his working life to Westinghouse and later to Canada Post, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and reliability. Outside of work, Rick found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time on the golf course, enjoying a good movie, and cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays. Whether watching a game or sharing stories, he treasured time spent with family and friends above all else.
Rick had a way of making people feel comfortable and valued. He listened without judgment, offered help without hesitation, and gave love without condition. His greatest pride was his family, and he leaves behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and unwavering support.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
