In Loving Memory of Earl Wilton Best
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we announce the peaceful passing of Earl Wilton Best, who began his earthly journey at sunrise on October 16, 1937, and entered eternal rest at sunset on March 8, 2025, at the age of 88, following the final stages of dementia.
Born in Barbados, Earl carried the warmth, rhythm, and generosity of his island roots with him when he immigrated to Canada in the 1960s, eventually establishing his home and life in Ontario. A natural entrepreneur and the ultimate salesman, Earl’s career reflected his curiosity, confidence, and love of connecting with people. From real estate to Tupperware, and later building and selling water filtration systems, he approached every venture with enthusiasm, determination, and pride.
Earl will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Rosemarie Best. He is lovingly remembered by his children, David Baker, Natalee Davis, and Leslie Best. He shared his daughters, Natalee and Leslie, with their mother, Greta Best, who remains an important part of their lives. Earl is also fondly remembered by his children’s spouses and his grandchildren, who brought him great joy.
He was well loved by his siblings, his many nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of friends and extended family who were touched by his warmth, humour, and generous spirit.
A man of strong faith, Earl’s devotion to his church and his commitment to God were evident through countless volunteer hours and a life lived in service to others. Music was one of his greatest joys. He loved all forms of music and created lasting memories through dancing, celebrating gospel in church, and hosting joyful sing‑alongs during the holiday season.
Earl also found deep joy in cooking and baking, often bringing people together through food. His Bajan fishcakes were a cherished specialty, lovingly prepared and proudly shared, a taste of home that carried his culture, care, and generosity. These meals, like his music and laughter, created moments of connection that will be remembered and treasured.
Earl’s life was one of faith, celebration, hospitality, and love. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, joy, and togetherness that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to share in his life.
A memorial service will be held at St John’s Dixie 737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, ON L4Y 2B5. Date: Saturday, March 28, 2026 11:00 am – 2:00 pm Magnolia Room.
