In loving Memory of Claude Lacasse
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Claude Lacasse, 84, on May 26, 2025. Claude was born on February 19, 1941, in Saint John, New Brunswick to Auguste and Jeanne (Blouin) Lacasse. This is where he met and married the love of his life, Judy. Claude and Judy enjoyed 61 years of marriage raising their three daughters, his pride and joy.
Claude was a civil engineer by training having graduated from the University of New Brunswick class of 1964. He held executive leadership roles throughout his career in multiple provinces, including close to two decades as president of MiTek Canada until he retired in 2001. He enjoyed travelling, golf, bowling, and the occasional pool game.
Claude was a man with a gentle and quiet nature. He was always a gentleman who treated others with kindness and respect, and in return was respected by all. He was not the loudest in a room and didn’t need to be focus of attention but was likely one of the smartest. His number one priority was taking care of his family, and despite his career success, this was his greatest achievement.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy, and children, Linda Lacasse, Lori Lacasse (Doug Pratt), and Alice Bolton (Ken). He will be missed by his grandchildren Megan Marchand (Aaron), Coleton Sweep, and Delaney Sweep, and great grandson, Mason Marchand. He will also be remembered fondly by his sisters and brother, Lola Burchill, Yvan Lacasse (Elizabeth), and Claire Lacasse. He was predeceased by his brother Maurice Lacasse. He was much admired by his many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.
Claude was a passionate supporter of the annual Terry Fox Run having only missed six in the last 44 years and raising over $100,000 for cancer research. Memorial donations can be made to the Terry Fox Foundation in his name.
Thank you to the staff at Trillium Health Partners for the care Claude received.
A date to celebrate Claude’s life will be announced
