In Loving Memory of Andreas Geurtjens

Andreas (Andy) Geurtjens passed after a lengthy illness at home in Aylmer, Ontario on October 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Andy is survived by his loving wife, of 61 years, Johanna (Joanne) Geurtjens. Dear father of Maryann (Donnie) and Andrew (Tammy). Loving Opa of James (Lyndsey), Gregory (Mandy), Darren (Holli), Kenzie (Nate), and Kylie (Brett). He adored his great grandchildren Nova, Rylee, Brooklynn, Bronson and Aria. He was predeceased by his parents Anna Maria and Peter Geurtjens, his brothers George, Leo, Piet, Harrie, and Antoon; and his sisters Leen, Truus, Mia and Rose, Survived by his brother Jan and his sisters Nellie, Toos, and Roos, and his dearest brother Frank (Liz) of Ayton, Ontario.
He was born in Someren, the Netherlands on June 1, 1943. On April 2, 1964 he married the love of his life Johanna (Joke, Joanne) in the Netherlands and shortly there after immigrated to Vienna, Ontario. Together they started their journey as tobacco growers for the next 40 years. They started growing tobacco together in the Otterville area and set their roots down in Vienna.
He enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, but mostly with a group of very special friends – Frank Geurtjens, Bill Kantors, Adrian Couwenberg, John Van Gastel and Ted Van De Ven. His greatest joy was dancing with his wife and spending time with his cherished family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 16 at the Knights of Columbus, 58 Beech Street, Aylmer, Ontario, from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. with lunch served at 12:30 p.m.
