Hicks, Ruth

Ruth Hicks (nee Midwinter) passed away peacefully at the Queensway Health Centre on March 7, 2018. after a prolonged illness.  Ruth is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roy, and two daughters, Shirley (with Mark) of Birmingham Alabama, and Barbara (with Dave) of Toronto.  She was pre-deceased by two other daughters, Heather (2017) and Elizabeth (1972) Ruth was a native of Roland, Manitoba, a graduate of the University of Manitoba and a registered dietician in hospitals. After living in Manitoba, British Columbia and Alberta, she became a Mississauga resident in 1967 and a member of Applewood United Church. In addition to being a loving mother and homemaker, she was active in girl guides, enjoyed knitting, crafts and genealogy

Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will take place on April 13 at 11am followed by a reception at Applewood United Church, 2067 Stanfield Road in Mississauga.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trillium Health Foundation or Applewood United Church
