Gassmann, Gerold (1937-2021)

Gerold Gassmann died peacefully at home in Mississauga after an illness that began in March 2021. Gerold is survived in Canada by Gisela, his wife of 61 years and his son, Andrew, and his family.

Gerold was born to his parents Anna and Fritz on January 13, 1937 in the Thuringia Region of Germany. He had 2 siblings, Alo and Karin. Gerold arrived in Montreal, Canada in 1957 where he met his wife. They moved to Ontario in 1967 and lived in
Mississauga for 49 years.

Gerold was a skilled carpenter and worked in construction for over 40 years. He was also an avid outdoorsman who looked forward to hunting season and trips up north. Gerold valued physical fitness and went to the gym almost daily. He also enjoyed card games like “Skat” which he looked forward to playing with friends at the Hansa House
every week.
Gerold will forever be missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew him.
