DAVID “DAVE” JOHN REED

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dave Reed at home, while surrounded by family on Thursday, June 26, 2025; at the age of 86. Beloved husband to Jackie Reed for over 45 years of marriage, loving father to Jamie, Kieran, Rebecca, Theresa, Hayley and their families.  Cherished grandpa to Grace, and dear brother to Raymond. He is now reunited with his furry companion and “man’s best friend” Murphy.

Dave was a hardworking and devoted family man who was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. He was proud of his English heritage and proudly served in the British military for 15 years.  He enjoyed a successful career as a welder, where he made a lasting impact through many friendships. To Dave though, family was most important, he was a devoted husband and doting father. He had a great sense of humor and took great pride in making people laugh at social gatherings. He was known for his excellent cooking skills and for making sure everyone was well fed. He was a devoted football fan and enjoyed spending weekends watching a good soccer match.

Dave was a kind soul who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many family members and friends. In his memory, a kind gesture to a stranger would be appreciated.

A celebration of Dave’s life (drop in) will be held on Saturday, Aug 9th, 2025, from 1pm – 4pm at 45 Walter Street, Brantford. For anyone wishing to comment or pay tribute to Dave, this will take place at 2pm. Photographs and memories would be greatly appreciated, flowers gracefully declined.

My heart is broken for you and the whole family. I hope that, even though your world is so dark right now, you are soon able to see some light in the memories and love you shared with him. Lean on me for anything. With all my love, Tam.
