DAVID ALBERT COOK
April 2, 1944 – March 14, 2024
On Thursday March 14th, Dave peacefully passed away 2 weeks prior of his 80th birthday, surrounded by his loving daughters. Survived by daughters Jennifer (Chad) and Debbie (Matt). Also survived by Merilee, and his 5 grandchildren, whom will miss him terribly and miss hearing their nicknames which he fondly gave each of them, but will remember him with so much love, Ainslie (Ainslie Morgan), Nicholas (Sparkey), Jesse (Peanut), Tristin (Louie), and Sophiah (Sweetie Pie). Dave idolized each and every one of them and loved to go and watch them play football, baseball, and attend their school concerts, full of pride. Dave is predeceased by his parents Bert and Lola, as well as his brother Ken and his sisters Carole and Sharon. He is survived by his brothers Brian and Bobby, his sister Nancy, and many brother and sister in laws, as well as many nieces and nephews. Dave loved his weekends and summers up in Haliburton at the trailer fishing and enjoying a drink or 3 around the campfire for many years. Dave was a long-time employee of Standard Engines and Barton Auto Parts. He was very fond of many of his customers whom also became very good friends and would quite often pop into their shop to offer a few words of wisdom, a great conversation that probably consisted of a “Dave-ism” or 2 and of course a beer. He was also a life-long member of the ATSS as well as very involved with the CFMS. Dave will be remembered with a celebration of his life at the Dunsdon Legion, 9 Tollgate Rd Brantford, on Tuesday March 26th from 6pm- 9pm by all whom would like to come and share their fond memories.
Until we meet again, Dad
Well Dave the picture is really nice. You always were very handsome. And when you had a brush cut and was going out it took you about an hour to comb your hair. Well Dave sorry that you had to leave and go home with all the angels. Maybe you should holler there and let your family and friends know you are up there. At some point in our lives we will all meet again. Dave rest in peace and no pain and enjoy your friends love ya Nancy
