Byrne, Richard Desmond

In celebration of Richard Desmond Byrne who passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024 at the age of 79, in Oakville, Ontario.

Born in Dublin, Ireland to Patrick and Kathleen Byrne on May 27, 1945. Raised in large family of seven children, Richard with his family travelled overseas to Canada where he settled in Mississauga, Ontario. Richard is survived by his two sons, Michael and Robert (Magdalena). He was a cherished grandfather to Ava, Julia and Emily. A loving brother to Brendan (Judy), Bernadette (Harvey), Philomena (Joe). Fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Richard was a hard working Industrial Compounder spanning decades and spent his personal time expressing an ever-growing artistic side. Richard had a passion for creating stain glass lamps in his workshop and occasionally crafted clay figures and unique wooden carvings.

Richard always had a love of film and watched endless great movies and encouraged everyone he met to enjoy a hidden gem! He also had an ear for great music, enjoyed attending top artists in concert and had a huge record collection he would pull out during the holidays. Richard often spent weekends visiting family and enjoying quiet time and the beauty around him. Richard will be missed for his love and devotion.

A cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday August 27, 2024 at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium with a private burial service to follow. Friends are welcome from 10am for visitation.
