BRECKENRIDGE, Lise Grey (nee Spanton)

May 30, 2025 | 2 Condolences

February 09, 1957 – May 22, 2025

James W. Breckenridge sadly announces the passing of his beloved wife Lise on May 22, 2025. Predeceased by her parents Jack W. Spanton and June Yvonne Spanton (Gabourie). Cherished step-mother to Kristin Breckenridge, JR Breckenridge and Alanna (Tripodi). Dear sister to her brother Clayton Spanton and Heather (Cassels), and sister Gabrielle Spanton and Tim (Revely). Loving aunt to Jason (Lilly), Eric Oulster, Kendra Cassels (Samir), Andrew (Rachel). Proud great aunt to Stella and Sienna. Adored and loved by life long friends Katherine Van de Mark, and Lynn LeMesurier Day.

Lise was a gentle and kind soul. Her love for her husband Jay was deep and everlasting. Anyone who knew Lise knows that Jay was the love of her life. She treasured their time together and loved to share stories of how they first met when she was 8 years old.

Lise was proud of the time she spent working with her father at Span-co General Contracting. She especially enjoyed interior design work. She was very creative, most recently making personal cards from scratch.

She was extremely grateful for the generosity and kindness of the organ donors who prolonged her life by 17 years. What began as life-saving operations became a calling. Lise was deeply saddened by the devastating reality that too many lives are lost waiting for transplants.

With her husband leading the way, she turned her personal journey into a mission to raise awareness and encourage all Canadians to become organ donors.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to www.cantransplant.ca

We are profoundly thankful to the many doctors and nurses at UHN Transplant for their kindness and care.
